Use this opportunity to get to know each other- you may want to come prepared with questions and review their profile on our website beforehand. Remember, this initial session does not obligate you to continue therapy if it's not a good fit. OUR COUNSELLORS

  • What's the cancellation policy?

If you miss your scheduled appointment without providing at least 48 hours' notice for cancellation or rescheduling, you will be charged the full cost of the session.

We recognise that unexpected situations may occur, but cancellations, no-shows, and lateness affect our ability to offer timely care to all clients. Please note that if you arrive late for your appointment, we cannot extend your session beyond the scheduled time, as your appointment duration is fixed.

We do not offer refunds. However, you may reschedule your appointment within one month of the original date, subject to your counsellor's availability and workload. If no suitable time is available, the fees paid will be forfeited.

  • How do I cancel or reschedule appointments?

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, you can do so by contacting your counsellor at least 48 hours in advance.

  • Do you offer counselling for employees or workshops for businesses?

Absolutely. We provide a variety of services to support both employees and businesses. We understand that managing a team can be challenging, and the demands of work and life can be overwhelming. That's why we offer a selection of packages and workshops aimed at improving both your well-being and that of your team. Our employee therapy sessions and business workshops are specifically designed to address the complexities of modern work-life balance and effective team management.

  • Do I need counselling or can I do it myself?

Seeking counselling demonstrates self-acceptance, self-awareness, and courage - important steps in overcoming life's challenges. While some issues may be manageable on your own, many benefit from the guidance of a skilled and experienced professional who can help you develop the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate obstacles effectively.

  • Is mediation and counselling the same?

No, mediation and counselling are not the same thing. In mediation, you work with an impartial third party to discuss and negotiate practical and legal arrangements, such as those involving your children or finances, after the breakdown of a relationship. The goal of mediation is to help you and the other party come to mutually agreeable solutions, rather than having a court impose a decision.

  • What if I don't feel like my counsellor is the right fit for me?

If you feel like it isn't the right fit, we will happily set you up with a new counsellor who better suits your needs, no questions asked.

  • How long do people usually have counselling sessions for?

The length of time people stay in counselling can vary significantly.  The number of visits are not set in stone and is influenced by your goals.

We understand that each individual is unique and moves forward at their own pace.which is why we tailor our process to your unique situation and together move towards reaching your counselling goals. It is important to approach counselling with an open mind and recognise that the duration of treatment is highly personal and depends on your unique needs and goals. We work hard to help you progress through the process as efficiently as possible, but the reality is that meaningful change often takes time. Relationships and personal growth are complex, and rushing the process may not lead to the lasting benefits you seek.

  • How can I get the most out of counselling?

To get the most out of your therapy sessions, try these steps:

-Reflect on each session afterwards and think about how you can apply the insights and exercises to your daily life.

-Follow up on any tasks or homework your counsellor assigns between sessions. The real work happens outside the therapy room.

-Be open and honest with your counsellor, even when it's difficult. They can't help you if you hold back important information.

-Understand that challenging moments in counselling or between sessions are signs of growth and positive change, not setbacks.

  • Can I pick the counsellor I would like to work with by myself?

Absolutely! We want your sessions to be as successful as possible and will tailor them to your unique needs. You can review profiles online before contacting us to offer you some guidance based on specialities and certifications to make sure you get the best match.

  • How regularly will I see my counsellor?

The frequency of your sessions with your counsellor will depend on the type of therapy and your individual needs, though many counsellors typically offer weekly sessions.

  • What is the difference between coaching, counselling and therapy?

The main difference between coaching and counselling/therapy is their focus and approach. The terms counselling and therapy are often used interchangeably and tend to address past traumas and general dissatisfaction, working to resolve issues and alleviate symptoms.

Counsellors generally focus on specific, short-term issues, whereas therapists often take a deeper, more long-term approach.  Coaching, on the other hand, is more future-focused, aiming to unlock a person's potential and maximise their performance and growth.

Therapy supports mental health by examining the past and helping clients work through challenges. Coaching, in contrast, is more about accelerating mental growth and cultivating a productive, forward-looking mindset.

  • My relationship is ending. Can you save it?

Every relationship faces challenges, and sometimes we can't get through them on our own but professional help may still be able to turn things around. While no counsellor can guarantee they can save a relationship, research shows couples often wait too long before seeking support. Just as we turn to experts for our health, or legal needs, seeking guidance from a counsellor could provide the tools and perspective needed to revive a troubled relationship. Though the path forward may be uncertain, taking that first step to get professional support can make all the difference.

  • What if my partner won't come into counselling with me?

If your partner is unwilling to attend relationship counselling with you, consider going on your own. While it may not be the ideal scenario, individual counselling can still be beneficial. You can use this time to focus on your personal growth and challenges within the relationship. From there, you can work on finding the best way to approach the topic with your partner encourage their participation and formulate a plan with your counsellor.

  • I still have more questions…

That's perfectly fine, we will do our best to answer them for you, you can browse our website for more information on specific topics or you can contact us.
