Feel it. Express it. Let Music Do the Talking

Sometimes words are hard to find. Music can offer another way to express yourself.

A welcoming space to explore music, find your voice and connect with others.

Sometimes it can be difficult to put feelings into words. Music offers another way to explore emotions, express yourself and share an experience with others.

Positive Talk’s music groups are designed to be creative, inclusive and encouraging. Through listening, rhythm, simple instruments and shared musical activities, participants can take part at their own pace, whether they love music already or are trying something new.

No pressure to perform. No experience needed. Everyone is welcome to explore.

A safe space to express yourself

Music groups are about participation, creativity and connection, not getting every note right. Participants can listen, make sounds, explore rhythm, choose music and join in as much or as little as feels comfortable.

What can sessions include?

·     Listening to and exploring different kinds of music

·     Simple percussion instruments, rhythm and sound

·     Song sharing and creative musical activities

·     Breathing, relaxation and grounding exercises where appropriate

·     Opportunities to practice communication, confidence and collaboration

·     A friendly group experience with clear expectations and encouragement

Music can open up a different way to communicate.

Everyone experiences music differently. Sessions aim to offer a positive opportunity for expression, enjoyment and connection, without promising a particular outcome.

Facilitated with care

Sessions will be led by an appropriately qualified and experienced facilitator. Add the facilitator’s name, qualifications, professional registration where applicable, and relevant experience here before publication.

The right group for each stage of life

We plan separate groups so the activities, pace and group environment can be suited to participants’ ages and needs. You do not need to read music, play an instrument or have previous experience.

Proposed group age ranges:

Group Who it is for Session focus
Children Ages 5–11 Playful music, rhythm, creativity and taking turns
Teenagers Ages 12–17 Self-expression, confidence and connection
Adults Ages 18 and over Creative expression, wellbeing and shared interests

These are recommended starting age bands, not a requirement to run every group immediately. Launch the groups for which there is sufficient interest, then review demand before adding more.

For children and young people, parent/carer consent and appropriate safeguarding arrangements will be required. Contact us to discuss accessibility, additional needs or whether a group is suitable.

New Paragraph

Why make music together?

Making music with others creates a shared activity where people can explore sound, creativity and communication. For some, it may feel easier to express something through music than through conversation; others simply enjoy learning, listening and being part of a group.

·    Explore music in a welcoming environment

·    Try new sounds, rhythms and creative activities

·    Share interests and experiences with others

·    Build confidence by taking part at your own pace

·    Enjoy a positive, structured group activity

Let the music bring you together.
