Joanna
Integrative Counsellor | BACP Registered
With over two decades of experience in mental health, I bring a deep understanding and compassionate approach to counselling. My extensive career within the NHS has given me a unique insight into the complexities of mental health and the way it can impact individuals and families across society. I’ve dedicated my professional life to supporting those who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or simply in need of someone to talk to.
I am a qualified integrative counsellor, drawing on a blend of therapeutic approaches—Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy—to offer tailored, client-led support. I also hold a Diploma in Mental Health Science, which has strengthened my ability to work with a wide range of psychological challenges.
I work with adults experiencing a variety of emotional and mental health concerns, including:
• Anxiety and panic attacks
• Depression and low mood
• Mood disorders
• Bipolar disorder
• Stress and burnout
• Low self-esteem and confidence
• PTSD and trauma
• Grief and loss
• Loneliness and isolation
• Relationship and family issues
• Life transitions and adjustment difficulties
I’m passionate about helping people move from a place of emotional struggle to one of clarity, strength, and resilience. There’s something incredibly powerful about witnessing those moments of transformation—when a client begins to reconnect with hope and believe in themselves again. It’s that positive shift that continues to inspire and motivate my work every day.
Qualifications:
• Diploma in Mental Health Science
• Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
• Person-Centred Therapy
