Mari

I am an integrative counsellor offering a warm, compassionate, and client-led therapeutic space. My path into counselling was shaped by my own experience of being in therapy for many years and witnessing first-hand how life-changing and healing it can be. I deeply believe that everyone deserves a non-judgmental space where they feel safe enough to be themselves and explore what’s going on beneath the surface.

I have gained experience through postgraduate clinical training, voluntary roles, and crisis services, supporting individuals both in moments of immediate emotional distress and through ongoing personal challenges. This background has helped me develop a calm, steady presence, particularly when working with clients who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally stretched.

I work with adults who may be experiencing:

  • Anxiety, worry, and feeling constantly on edge
  • Low mood or emotional numbness
  • Trauma
  • Difficulties with emotional regulation
  • Relationship challenges and patterns that feel hard to break
  • Identity, self-esteem, and self-worth concerns
  • Stress and burnout
  • Life transitions and change

I have a particular interest in working with neurodivergent clients, including ADHD and autism, as well as exploring the impact of intergenerational trauma. I aim to work in a way that is thoughtful, attuned, and sensitive to each client’s background, identity, and lived experience.

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from different therapeutic models to adapt therapy to your needs, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I work in a warm, reflective, and emotion-focused way, offering a gentle yet containing space where you can move at your own pace. I also have experience working with couples, supporting partners to better understand themselves, each other, and their relational dynamics.

If you’re looking for a supportive and collaborative space to explore what’s been weighing on you, I would be honoured to work alongside you.
