Robert

I recognise how difficult it can feel when searching for the right counsellor and taking the first step to address what is troubling you. Reaching out for support is a significant and courageous decision, and I aim to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your concerns at your own pace.

I am a qualified counsellor, having completed my counselling degree at Teesside University, and I am a current registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working within their ethical framework.

Alongside my core training, I have completed additional professional qualifications, including a Grief and Bereavement Counselling Diploma (Distinction, March 2021). I also have further training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and HIV/AIDS Holistic Counselling, allowing me to work in an integrative and flexible way to meet individual needs.

I have over 10 years’ experience working within alcohol and drug services and have spent the last 5 years working as an Alcohol Specialist. This experience has given me a strong understanding of addiction, recovery, and the emotional and psychological challenges that often sit alongside substance use.

I believe it is important to be heard and understood, and I work collaboratively with clients, going at a pace that feels right for them. Together, we can explore what you hope to gain from counselling and work towards meaningful and lasting change.
